2NE1’s CL named as one of “10 New Artists You Need To Know In 2105” by Rolling Stone

CL has taken her ambitions of American domination further after being named by Rolling Stone as one of the buzz artists that music fans should know about in 2015.

Rolling Stone Magazine recently talked to 10 of the hottest artists who are “climbing the charts, breaking the Internet or just dominating our office stereos” this month. And their list includes the self proclaimed ‘World’s Baddest Female,’ CL.

One part of the wildly successful 2NE1 K-pop group, CL has been taken under the wing of Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and super manager Scooter Braun as part of her ambitions to break into the US market. Recently she has announced collaborations with Skrillex, and Diplo, with her debut EP to be released on Diplo’s Mad Decent label.

“I don’t want to take too much responsibility, where I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m representing Asia,” CL states, “I’d want to, of course, because I am Korean, and after Psy, there were no Asian artists out here doing music. I would love to represent Asian girls and be an example or an idol for girls [in the U.S.] That is my dream, but I don’t want that to be my main goal. I just want to do something I love, and music comes first for me.”

The list includes other artists:

  • Tunde Olaniran
  • Halsey
  • Snoh Aalegra
  • Grave Pleasures
  • Eskimeaux
  • Travis Mills
  • Cold Beat
  • CL
  • Boogie
  • Bjarki
