Gentle Bones’ new EP “Geniuses and Thieves” shoots to top of iTues charts with one hour of release


Singaporean singer-songwriter Joel Tan, better known to fans as Gentle Bones, released his new EP ‘Geniuses & Thieves’ today and within one hour it has already charted at #1 on the Singapore iTunes.



A departure from his first self-titled EP, ‘Geniuses & Thieves’ is an artfully constructed record that is made up of sprawling electro-sonics and infectious hooks – an ambitious stride forward for one of Singapore’s most exciting young artists. He draws from R&B influences that have him reaching impressive vocal heights with bluesy baritones and glossy falsettos.


The new EP will be preceded by the official single, Run Tell Daddy – which follows the success of his street single of the same title, Geniuses & Thieves. Written by Joel Tan and produced by Yves Rothman (produced for Post Malone, Charli XCX) and Josh Wei, Run Tell Daddy is a brilliant pop spectacle which ushers the listener into his brave new musical world. The EP also features songs, “Geniuses & Thieves” and “This Hurts”, produced by acclaimed Singaporean producer, Flightsch. The hauntingly beautiful track “Liar” features one of Singapore’s rising talented singers – Linying.


Speaking of i new album, Gentle Bones says “Facing many trials over the past year and a half, we have finally got to this. I’m glad to say that this EP, that I’ve poured my heart into for so long, is now out.


In addition, Gentle Bones has also designed his new range of Geniuses & Thieves merchandise collection in celebration of his new record.
