Zayn’s ‘Pillowtalk’ takes over MWA Charts in Singapore and Indonesia

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik has launched straight into the number one position of both the Indonesian and Singapore charts with his first solo single, ‘Pillow talk.’

The track also polled well in Philippines and Malaysia where it debuted at ninth and fourth positions respectively.

As the saying goes, success is the best revenge and the pop singer/songwriter has certainly proven his detractors wrong, pulling off a feat in scoring a number one position that One Direction never were able to achieve.

Since departing from prolific boy band in March last year, Malik remained quiet before revealing all in an interview where he detailed the breakdown of the band and how he left to pursue hisown projects and make the sort of music he “wanted to listen to.”

The sultry track is set for release as art of Zayn’s debut album Mind of Mine which is due for release on March 25, a date that happens to coincide with his departure from One Direction.

The track also saw the star take the title as the first U.K artist to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 with a first charted single and the first No. 1 debut of any artist since Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” in 2013.
