Vanessa Amorosi’s ‘The Power’ reissued in special edition to celebrate 15 years

The Power was the debut album from then teenage Australian pop singer Vanessa Amorosi and was an important chapter in Australian music history. First released in April 2000, the album was the first debut by an Australian female to reach number one on the ARIA Top 50 Albums Chart where it remained for 62 weeks.

The 13 track debut album featured the smash hit “Absolutely Everybody,” one of the longest charting singles in ARIA chart history. The song took over the radio airwaves for an entire year and saw the teen sensation rise to international prominence when she performed it at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.
Other singles “Have a Look” and “Shine” were also standouts from the album that ended up becoming a 4 times Platinum selling release. Far from fining fame immediately, the pop starlet had been gigging seven days a week from the age of 12 before she was discovered at a Russian restaurant in Melbourne.

To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of this momentous album, it has been reissued with 4 previously unreleased tracks. Take a step back to the year 2000 and be a part of history with this must have additional to your playlist.
