Call of the Tiger: A South-East Asian Indie Showcase at Reeperbahn Festival!

Music Services Asia (MSA), Asia’s #1 Weekly Source for Music Business News and Information, is thrilled to present Call of the Tiger: A South-East Asian Indie Showcase at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Germany. This is the first time that South-East Asian music will be represented at Reeperbahn Festival. The 3 bands that had been selected to perform in this exciting showcase are The Trees & The Wild from Indonesia, Tenderfist from Malaysia and MONSTER CAT from Singapore. Set to take place in Moondoo, a club on the Reeperbahn district, Call of the Tiger is supported by Tiger Beer and Channel V.

The Trees & The Wild (Indonesia)

Hailing from Bekasi, Indonesia, The Trees & The Wild  are renowned for their innovative musical blend of post-rock, experimental and folk stylings, underpinned with a distinctly Indonesian identity. The Trees & The Wild will be bringing their intense, trance-inducing live performances outside of South-East Asia for the first time at Reeperbahn Festival.

Tenderfist (Malaysia)

This quirky trio from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be sure to get your feet moving in no time with their joyous collision of pop and electronica. Featuring the aesthetics of “toy instruments in the attic”, Tenderfist’s performance at Reeperbahn Festival will also see them with the addition of a new bassist, completing the trio.

MONSTER CAT (Singapore)

The dark undercurrents and ominous lyrical imagery accompanying their evocative brand of folk-rock marks MONSTER CAT as a compelling band to watch in time to come. MONSTER CAT was specially selected by the Reeperbahn Festival team after emerging as one of the top 10 highest-voted bands in a contest organized through Music Services Asia’s Facebook page exclusively for Singapore bands.
