Madonna announces second Philippines show due to “overwhelming public demand”


American recording artist Madonna has confirmed via local promoter Music Management International Live that she will be performing two concerts in Manila on Feb. 24 and 25, 2016.


Live Nation Entertainment, the producer of Madonna’s “Rebel Heart Tour,” officially announced on Wednesday that it was adding a second date to the Queen of Pop’s Manila stop due to “overwhelming public demand.”


The “Rebel Heart” tour is Madonna’s 10th and has been launched in support of her 13th studio record of the same title. The tor commences on Sept. 9, 2015 in Canada, before continuing throughout North America and Europe. In 2016 the tour will see the pop diva performing in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. At this point Manila is the only Asian stop that has been confirmed.


Tickets to the Feb. 25 show will go on sale at SM Ticket outlets starting Sunday, August 2 at 10 a.m, with prices ranging from P57,750 for SVIP seats to P3150 for general admission. Pre-sale opportunities will be given once again to members of Madonna’s official fan club, Icon, today, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Citi cardholders from July 30, 10 a.m. to July 31, 5 p.m.; as well as Globe subscribers on Aug. 1, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
