Universal Music Singapore releases ‘Zouk Presents Tease’

by

Regulars of Zouk and Phuture in Singapore would be familiar with resident DJs Eclipse & Ghetto, the men behind the decks responsible for playing and mixing your favourite tunes at TEASE, Phuture’s weekly Saturday parties. This year, Phuture turns sweet 16 while TEASE celebrates its first year.
Because of this very special occasion, Zouk and Universal Music Singapore have collaborated to release Zouk Presents Tease, a non-stop mix music album by DJ Eclipse and DJ Ghetto.

That’s not all; we’ve got 3 Zouk Presents Tease hampers up for grabs!  The question to answer is right at the bottom of the interview!

DJ Ghetto                                                                       DJ Eclipse

Hi, guys! Tell us a little bit about how you both got into DJing.
DJ Eclipse: My love for music and the interest in DJ-ing got the better of me, so I started out learning on my own, making music in my bedroom.
DJ Ghetto: I had been partying regularly at Phuture since I was 18 and was introduced to turntablism by some mates. That was how my interest in DJ-ing kick started, and from there, like they say, the rest is history.

What’s your best memory of your DJ career at Zouk/Phuture?
DJ Eclipse: My best memory was probably playing at ZoukOut 2010. It was my first time playing ZoukOut and it was the festival’s 10th anniversary. The after party had David Guetta dancing with a white horse mask on, while Dennis Ferrer was playing at 8am the next day!
DJ Ghetto: Having had the honour to warm up for one of the legends in the dance music scene – DJ Shadow during the recent Singapore Grand Prix 2011 at Zouk. And definitely the first ZoukOut I played for in 2010, it was after I first joined as a resident DJ, [and that] remains to be one of the best memories for me.

We know that both of you have mixed a dance compilation CD for TEASE’s first anniversary and Phuture’s 16th birthday. What is your favourite track on the album?
DJs Ghetto and Eclipse: Levels by Avicii.

And which artist on the album would you share your DJ booth with?
DJs Ghetto and Eclipse: Nicki Minaj.

And finally, what would you recommend to a first time clubber in Phuture?
DJs Ghetto and Eclipse: Expect the unexpected, let your hair down and party like it’s the end of the world!
