Chris Brown cancels tour at the last minute… again

Echoing last year’s debacle that saw him cancel his New Year’s Eve performance in the Philippines at the last minute, troubled R&B artist Chris Brown has just announced his  Australian tour will not go ahead as planned.

The decision comes amid petitions to ban Brown, a statement from the Minister Of Women backing the ban, and the consequent “Notice of Intention to Consider Refusal” of his visa in September.

In  statement from the Chris Brown Tour Au Facebook page and Ticketek site, promoters state the December tour dates are postponed at this time. “Chris Brown’s December 2015 tour in both Australia and New Zealand will not take place,” the statement read, but management “remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future”. The promoters also write of Brown’s “deepest gratitude to the fans for their support” and aim for “a successful tour in the near future”.

The One Hell Of A Nite tour was all set to kick off in just one week’s time, commencing in Perth before heading to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Chris Brown has not posted a statement of his own at this point.

The full reason behind the cancellation has not been divulged yet and whether it is as a result of petitions and reported visa bans.
