Red Hot Chili Peppers choose unlikely Asian support act for UK tour

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers have been lighting up stages all across Europe on their latest tour, most recently performing at Leeds festival to a sold out audience. But it’s their latest choice of special guests that has got fans scratching their heads.

Japanese metal act BABYMETAL have been tapped as the unlikely – but very cool- surprise support act for the legendary funk -rocker’s upcoming UK tour. The trio is one of Japan’s most unique exports (and yes, we are including their gameshows), consisting of three teenage Japanese girls dressed up in gothic lolita costumes kicking, screaming and air punching their way through screeching metal riffs. Because Japan.

Their unique sound has earned them fans across the globe, including, apparently, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Fans can catch the unlikely musical team up in the Chili’s December shows across Englan and Scotland.  Should make for one memorable show.
