The first round lineup delivered a veritable smorgasboard of music with the likes of Chic feat. Nile Rogers, Damien Rice, Mercury Rev and more but the organizers have just announced a host of amazing talent from across a wide musical spectrum.

Enigmatic American singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata returns to Singapore after her spectacular sell-out at The Esplanade in May and following  the release of her new album and Europe-US tour. Ambient-folk rock trio Daughter from England, best-known for a series of epic hits such as ‘Youth’, ‘Still’ and new single ‘Doing the Right Thing’, will be premiering tracks at Neon Lights from their forthcoming album ‘Not to Disappear’.

3 piece English band Daughter have just been announced

Electrifying Japanese acid-punk band Bo Ningen, award-winning alt-dance trio RÜFÜS from Sydney and legendary Californian hip-hop veterans Blackalicious all make their debut in Singapore at Neon Lights, as will Polaris-nominated post-punk Canadian outfit Viet Cong who released one of the best albums of 2015 on Jagjaguwar Records.

Neon Lights amplifies its alternative pop-rock offering with the return of American indie-pop darlings The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and the critically-lauded psych-pop rockers Gengahr from England who will perform their first-ever show in Singapore; Other indie acts at the festival include eclectic pop band MOCCA from Indonesia and local pop-revivalists Lost Weekend.
Rounding up the line-up are electro music wunderkind Jacques Greene from Montreal, and fellow Canadian and scratch master Kid Koala.

Blackalicious will be performing in Singapore for the first time ever

The festival has also offered the first glimpse of the Ars program which will see a captivating list of artists and performers keeping the crowds entertained.

Club Minky will host The Lords of Strut – a much-loved physical comedy duo hailing from Ireland, Australia’s The League of Sideshow Superstars and a host of the region’s finest comedians. Fans of the spoken word will rejoice in the announcement of Up @ Neon Lights, a two-day literary and spoken word festival-within-a-festival incorporating spoken word shows and culminating in the Singapore National Poetry Slam Championship.
