The full lineup for cruise ship festival Shipsomnia has dropped

If a floating five day holiday in paradise to bring in the new year sounds like your idea of a good time, Shipsomnia has what you’re looking for. The world’s first fully themed music and arts festival vacation cruise is making its global debut with a statement-making line-up comprising more than 40 artists from around the world.

So who’s going to be taking to the desks? Shipsomnia have now revealed the cast of names they’re bringing out to sea next January and it’s a quality bunch: Armand van Helden, BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and bass favourites Zeds Dead are all headlining the inaugural edition of the festival. But that’s not all. The heavyweight headliners will be backed up by the likes of Mat Zo, drum and bass legend DJ Marky, breaks stallwarts Stanton Warriors, James Zabiela, Dirtybird’s Justin Jay and Australia’s own Yolanda Be Cool.

Set to depart Singapore on January 2, the ship will keep some 2400 revellers entertained across 5 days, cruising between Singapore, Phuket andLankawi, some of the hottest locations in Asia. The $2.5 million experiential festival vacation will be pimped out with a mythical aquatic theme with a steampunk twist. In addition to the action on the ship, Shipsomnia’s will have a stop in Phuket where the beautiful private island Banana Beach, Koh Hey [Coral Island] will be closed especially for the festival-cruise.

Shipsomnia will bring in the new year with the assistance of the top clubs and party promoters/labels in Asia and Australia, who would bring their unique sound to the festival-cruise – from nightclubs kyo [Singapore], Fly [Hong Kong], M2 [Shanghai], VH [Bali] and Blowfish [Jakarta] – alongside underground party promoters/labels Kolour [Bangkok], Irie Sundays [Manila], Sub Sonic [Sydney] and Habitat (Perth).

“Shipsomnia’s artist line-up isn’t based on a Top 100 DJ list. Our music policy is strictly based on music, talent, and the direction we’d like to see on Shipsomnia. We’re leaning more towards an Ibiza vibe,” says Alessandra Maderni, Co-founder and CEO of Mad Fresh Events.
