Global EDM juggernaut Ultra festival announces full Asian event calendar

The competition to establish dominance as the preeminent EDM festival organizer across Asia is heating up. Where once Zouk Out was the only major festival across the region dedicated to showcasing the biggest and brightest stars in the EDM world, a number of competitors have emerged and the region has become the newest battleground in a battle for supremacy.

After 15 years in Miami, ULTRA set its sights on international markets, first heading to South America, then Europe and since 2013, has had a presence in Asia.

In 2015, ULTRA bought a record breaking eight stop tour across the continent which saw hundreds of thousands attending the events across the course of four months. The tour, held between June and September saw the festival host new editions in Macau, Bali, Philippines and Singapore as well as returning to Korea, Japan and Thailand.

To recognize this huge achievement, ULTRA dropped five after movies across the space of five days, showcasing all the reasons it is one of the world’s most established electronic music festivals. The clips features wrap-ups from their events at ULTRA Japan, along with Road to ULTRA events in Macau, Taiwan, Thailand and Philippines.
The clips feature all the pulse racing, fireball blasting, CO2 spewing excitement that you’d expect from an Ultra party and it’s pretty difficult not to feel a bit fired up when you watch it.

Best of all, at the end of the after-movies, ULTRA has announced its intention to return to the region, dropping the dates for the 2016 editions and the intention to tour to Hong Kong for the first time ever.

The full lineup for 2106 is below:

Whilst the lineups for most of the events have not been released yet, ULTRA Korea recently revealed their official Phase one Lineup for this year’s edition, which has traditionally been an indicator of what other events may have in store. Taking over the ecks on the main stage this year in Seoul will be Martin Garrix, Axwell Λ Igrosso, Avicii and Afrojack. More names are sure to be added in the coming weeks so stay tuned for details.
