Strawberry Music Festival Coming to Beijing and Shanghai


China’s Strawberry Music Festival is back, this time bringing indie and alternative acts on 29 April – 1 May simultaneously in Beijing and Shanghai. Now that it’s on its fifth year, the festival is celebrating with the theme: Goodbye Doomsday, it’s time to party!

Strawberry Festival Beijing will be held at the Canal Park of Tongzhou District. It could house 8 stages and more than 160 groups of artists. Meanwhile, Shanghai kids can convene in Shanghai Expo Park. Those gracing Strawberry’s stage with their presence include Travis (UK), Lenka (AU), Deerhoof (US) as well as local favorites: XTX, the new Godfather of Chinese rock, rock outfit New Points, “The Queen of Disco” Zhang Qiang and crowd favorite Second Hand Rose.

Strawberry Music Festival 2013 is organized by Modern Sky, an entertainment and record company in China. They will continue to bring more fun and attitude true to the Strawberry Planet’s premise to other cities such as Xi’an, to make young people fall in love with the Strawberry lifestyle. The Beijing and Shanghai line-up is below:
