We’re pretty sure you’ve heard of the phrase diamond in the rough. In Yuna’s case, she definitely was the diamond in the rain as she dazzled in a shimmering, glitzy knee-length dress. All eyes were on her as she performed in Kuala Lumpur in front of a packed home town crowd.
To commence the performance, long-time friend Noh Salleh opened the show with three songs. I for sure can tell you one thing, he was an utter joker. Audiences were laughing through the roof. No kidding!
Despite the drenched weather, concert goers were in high spirits. All they wanted to see was the queen of the night, Yuna. After much anticipation, she came out shiny, belted out a string of her hit songs such as “Falling”, “Mountains” and crowd-favourite, “Rescue”.
Then to our surprise, the unexpected happened. The ever cheerful Yuna performed “All I Do,” one of her new songs off her soon-to-be-released album, slated to be out in early 2016, exclusively to us Malaysian audience. I’m sure I speak for everyone else, especially her fans, when I say I couldn’t help but feel touched and grateful.
Now the downside of staging a concert in Plenary Hall is that we as spectators can’t move around as it’s a seated hall. It’s impossible to express our enthusiasm and excitement. Yuna must be some sort of fairy godmother, she knew how we felt, immediately instructed us to get up from our seat and danced the night away. At the end of show, she even encouraged fans to rush to the front stage and get a closer experience. Such a sweetheart!
Overall, it was a wonderful evening and the crowd thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Coincidentally, I read one of Yuna’s comments, saying the next concert venue option would be the newly located Zouk KL. I for one can’t wait for that!
