Days before his Philippines concert, armed men break into Chris Brown’s house, lock aunt in closet

Three masked men forced their way into singer Chris Brown’s house, locking a female relative in a closet and stole electronics, jewelery and cash, police said.

After years of his own legal troubles, it seems Brown has found himself the apparent victim this time around. Brown wasn’t at his home in Tarzana, a neighbourhood of Los Angeles when the robbery took place but stopped by in the morning to check on the welfare of his relative.  Police were notified at around 2 a.m Wednesday according to L.A. Police Department Officer R. Alvarez.

Three men wearing ski masks and armed with at least one handgun confronted the relative, thought to be Brown’s aunt, and locked the woman in a closet before ransacking the home, taking cash and jewellery, said Los Angeles police spokeswoman Liliana Preciado.

Brown is just as famous for his songs “Loyal” and “Run It!” as he is for his own brushes with the law, most notably in escaping jail time after pleading guilty to felony assault after using ex girlfriend Rihanna as a human punching bag.

Brown is due to perform in the Philippines on July 21st at the Mall of Asia Arena and fans are concerned that this latest incident may mean that the singer will cancel his performance. Brown previously cancelled a New Year’s Eve concert in the Philippines at the last minute, reportedly because of a lost passport. Representatives were unavailable for comment.
