EXO’s Lay makes public apology to fans “I hope you all will not hate me”

It has been reported by fans that EXO’s Lay has publicly apologized during the band’s Mnet’s M! Countdown “Love Me Right” stage recording.

According to those that were present there, Lay made the apology following the group’s pre recorded performance on M! Countdown. He made the following statement:

“I have many things I want to say [to fans.] It’s been a long time since I met everyone and [I’m] very happy to be able to record with the members after a long period of time. Because I’ve missed many [promotional] activities, I hope you all will not hate me.”

Lay is the only Chinese member of EXO currently, whilst Tao has completely ceased all promotional activities. For this reason, some netizens had thought that Lay was in the same category, criticizing him for missing promotional activities with the group’s EXODUS release in April.

His absence was because he was filming a movie in China but he has repeatedly made clear his love for EXO and his desire to remain within the group.
