Reason for LCD Soundsystem’s shock Asian tour cancelation revealed

Earlier last month Asian fans were devastated to hear the news that LCD Soundsystem, arguably the biggest name on the lineup, had pulled out of the Hong Kong festival. But it’s not all bad news for LCD lovers. 2016_LCDSoundsystem_GettyImages521517348_180416.article_x4

Clockenflap first announced the news via their Facebook page, revealing that LCD Soundsystem had canceled all their upcoming dates in Asia and Australia, effectively including Hong Kong. New information has come to light through Paste Magazine, that the canceled tour dates earlier this month were attributing to “scheduling conflict related to their new album.”

So I guess that’s a silver lining for fans. They may not be able to see James Murphy and his merry band of indie pranksters live, but it appears the New York based band will be releasing new material later this year – the first since 2010’s excellent This is Happening. So that’s good.

LCD Soundsystem have yet to make a public comment on the cancellation , nor when (or if) the band will be rescheduling dates to visit Southeast Asia.

The rest of the Clockenflap line-up remains unchanged, including Foals, Sigur Ros and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic and more names to be announced in the coming weeks.
