So as it turns out,
Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Sean Combs really takes his football pretty seriously.
The music mogul was arrested by UCLA campus police Monday at 12:30pm after allegedly getting into a physical alteration with his son’s football coach at a training session. The argument stemmed from perceived unfair treatment of Combs’ son Justin, who has played for the UCLA Bruins since 2012.
According to news site TMZ, Combs believed that strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi was unfairly targeting his son by ‘screaming intensely at him’ during training at a UCLA facility. Things get a little bit murky as to what exactly happened from there but after the ensuing argument in Alosi’s office, Combs was charge with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon. In conflicting statements, reports have emerged that the 45 year old was acting in self defense, holding the kettlebell in a defensive position, others say that he used the weight to throw at Alosi.
“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation,” UCLA football coach Jim Mora said in a statement to the media. “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”
Combs is currently in custody at the campus jail. No word yet from Justin Combs but we’d imagine he’s probably pretty embarrassed that his Dad is still trying to settle his fight at school.
