Taeyang Ringa Linga Hits Number One And Plans To Break The US

K-Pop star, Taeyang, has seen his comeback solo single Ringa Linga shoot in to the Top 30 charts across Asia, including #1 spots in Singapore and Malaysia, before he heads to San Francisco to perform his first ever show in the US.

Taeyang, who rose to fame as part of Bigbang, enlisted fellow member G-Dragon to produce his first solo single for 3 years. The video, which has already passed 5m views on YouTube, features a dance known as ‘Heung’ that fans have been copying and posting versions of themselves on YouTube.

However, like his fellow countryman Psy, it is the US market that has caught his eye. Immediately after participating in the 2013 Mnet Asia Music Awards in Hong Kong on Nov 22, he is flying out to San Fran to perform his first show as part of MTV’s The Music Experiment on November 26th. His label YG Entertainment, are reporting they have received several offers from US entertainment agenties who are interested in the 25yr old singer.

Taeyang, who recently said his distinct hairstyles are influenced by cows and scorpions, is confident his blend of dancing, hip-hop and melodies will be a big hit in the US, which is beginning to embrace music from Southeast Asia.
