Taylor Swift is assembling a crack squad of superheroes

bad-blood-coverThe Taylor Swift’s hype machine is in full steam for the release of her newest single “Bad Blood” on May 17 at the Billboard Music Awards and you won’t believe the cast!

We’ll have to wait until May 17th before we can feast our eyes on the video for “Bad Blood”, the latest single from Taylor Swift’s 1989 but that doesn’t mean we’ll be going into it blind. The 25 year old mega star has been drip feeding a tantalizing glimpse at the starring  and the cast is something that has to be seen to believed.

The moody, black and white headshots are reminiscent of a cross between a film noir crime thriller, Pulp Fiction and a sequel to Sin City, conjuring up images of smoky bars, dark alleys with long shadows and the shimmer of a knife under the cold moonlight. According to Hollywood Life, Taylor “anticipates this to be her best video ever and something that will rival and surpass Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.‘” We’ll need to wait to see if it lives up to that ambitious goal but in the meantime, here’s the swoon worthy cast:

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding and Tay Tay have been besties for years, often appearing in each other’s Instagram and Twitter feeds. Heck, it seems as though they may even be sharing the same romantic partners if the rumors about Taylor and Calvin Harris are true. Looking smoldering in a vinyl jumpsuit with some heavy weaponry, the alternative popstar has perfected the tilted head vacant stare.

Hailee Steinfeld

Starring as the triple threat as ‘The Trinity” this  Oscar nominated star of True Grit and (definitely not in Oscar contention) Pitch Perfect 2, will bring her substantial acting experience to the clip.

Gigi Hadid

With her hands on her hips and and an off camera stare that looks like it says “I’m sorry, what did you say?” Gigi Hadid emanates equal amounts of sex appeal and stone coldness.

Hayley Williams

With a shock of bright red hair and heavy eye makeup Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams has looks that could kill as ‘The Crimson Curse.”

Jessica Alba

It seems quite fitting that Jessica Alba should join the cast for Swift’s new clip, since it clearly derives inspiration from the aesthetic of Sin City, a film in which she starred. The actress is sure to be a scene stealer as Domino.

 Karlie Kloss

Supermodel and firmly entrenched member of Taylor’s inner circle, Karline Kloss dons a pair of gloves as “The Knockout.” Swift has delivered teasers that the two may end up battling in the film clip.

Kendrick Lamar

Swift has made no secret that she has been a fan of Lamar’s work in the past so it seems only sensible that she’d want to colaborate with him. We bet Kendrick can’t believe his luck being surrounded by all these fierce and beautiful women as the improbably named Welvin Da Great.

Lena Dunham

Another one of Taylor’s best friends, Girls star Lena Dunham is channeling Don Corleone as she stars in the clip as the cigar smoking Lucky Fiora,

Lily Aldridge

Victoria’s Secret Angel and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model (and wife to Kings Of Leon frontman Caleb Followill) Lily Aldridge looks sultry in fur hood as the appropriately titled “Frostbyte.”

Martha Hunt

A late addition, Martha Hunt was announced as the sword wielding Homeslice, because you can never have enough Victoria’s Secret Angels in one production.

Empire star Serayah is set to break hearts everywhere as the one and only Dilemma.

Actress, singer and dancer Zendaya may only be 18 years old but she looks more than capable of handling this vicious looking blade as Cut Throat.

Taylor Swift

T Swizzle sheds her usual nice girl image for a far more fierce alter ego as Catastrophe. Looking like a genuinely badass female, she’s rocking a leather motorcycle jacket and some seriously fierce eye makeup.
