Singapore welcomes back Irish three piece, The Script, set to rock the Singapore Indoor Stadium on the 29th March. The band have previously captivated crowds in the region and are now back better than ever. Their return is being celebrated and counted down by their ever increasing fan base of Scriptlets, some who reside in the Lion City.
For those of you who haven’t heard The Script‘s alternative rock/pop ballads, or witnessed Danny O’Donoghue vocal coaching on the UK show The Voice, they are a band whose success was propelled by their first single “We Cry” which reached the Top 20 in 2008. This was closely followed by their album “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” which soared in to the UK charts, spending three weeks in the British Top 10. Their sound reminisces U2 riffs and Coldplay hooks, displaying melancholic feelings. However, their new releases conduct an urban influence, while maintaining the stadium anthem direction. From being plugged relentlessly on hit TV series and sharing stages with some of the greats, they have achieved many notable milestones since forming in 2002.
The trio is currently performing an arena tour in support of their recent album #3, which has reached record heights rewarding them with their first number 1 single, “Hall of Fame”. It is claimed this track was written in 15 minutes by Danny and his fellow The Voice star WILL.I.AM. Recent reviews applaud the band as not “All voice and no trousers” as some may state, but say they are a must see, charismatic bunch of lads.
