Release: Papa Roach – THE CONNECTION

by

Nu-metal, a combination of aggressive riffs and pop structures – with a new clothing standard for a heavy music genre, saw dozens of prolific bands a decade ago, but only a few have resisted the trends seasonality. Papa Roach is one of them. All tattooed and hair styled, the four guys’ music is still as forceful as before with THE CONNECTION, despite frontman Jacoby Shaddix’s recent dark period of life. Album details and zombie videoclip are both available below.

Ten Million albums sold – Millions of fans rocked – TV appearances – Magazine covers – Movie and TV licenses – and 15 years later, Papa Roach still dominate modern rock and roll. One of the few bands to survive the nu-metal apocalypse, they have grown and continue to lead the wave of rock innovation. The new album THE CONNECTION (Eleven Seven Music / Love Da Records) carries this theme to yet another generation and may be their strongest offering to date.

Inspired by the connection between modern life and the digital world while still relating the everyday struggles of each of us, the new album is touchingly human while just digital enough. Think of it as a high-speed modem for rock and roll. Every song stands on it’s own as an undeniable slab of rock and roll but still feels fresh and adventurous with just the right amount of electronic embellishment.
