Singer-songwriter Jonathan Meur releases ‘Woodnotes’

Jonathan Meur is a discreet but regular player in Singapore’s indie music scene since 2011. The French-Mauritian singer-songwriter and his guitar often share the stage with other local and international acts, from Rachael Teo to Seyra or Gabriel Lynch, and it’s always a pleasure to hear his chilled out melodies.

Jonathan Meur EP launch

Jonathan Meur is releasing his debut EP, entitled Woodnotes, on Sunday, 7 April. Produced independently, the seven-track recording presents lush arrangements of the singer’s usually stripped-down songs, drawing on pop, folk and classical sensibilities. The EP recording was helmed by local indie music veteran and guitarist to indie rock band TypeWriter, Patrick Chng. To mark the launch and for the first time ever, Jonathan will perform backed by a full band at library@esplanade on the release day (7 April, 18:30), with supporting acts acoustic folk duo One Hat Town and one-woman band Weish.

Woodnotes will be available in physical and digital versions from Sunday, 7 April, at
