The Lion City’s favourite gadget girl slash electronic chanteuse The Analog Girl is set to bring her riveting live performance to this year’s CMJ Music Marathon, taking place in New York this October. The Analog Girl’s addition to the line-up was recently announced as part of the second wave of music acts confirmed, which spans a dizzying and exciting list of artists including DIIV, Teen Daze, The Presets, Tokimonsta and more.  When asked about what makes CMJ Festival so special for her, The Analog Girl shares with us this little story: “I was in New York last year and stayed at the Ace Hotel during CMJ Festival, and it was so cool to wake up to live performances from the likes of Dum Dum Girls, Widowspeak and Zola Jesus during breakfast in the hotel lobby. I was immediately infatuated with CMJ as it is one of those festivals that brings live music to its audience, with stages set up all across New York. And this year, I will be performing at CMJ – a total dream come true for me!”

For those of you lucky enough to be in New York next month, take note of these details: The Analog Girl plays on October 17th at 7pm at The Knitting Factory as part of the MANIMAL CMJ Showcase, named after the experimental LA-based record label. She will be sharing the stage with amazing artists from MANIMAL VINYL including Chains Of Love, Heliotropes, papercranes (featuring Rain Phoenix), Baron Von Luxxury, Aact Rraiser and Young Girls. Other sizzling-hot acts such as Bonde Do Role, Com Truise, Kimbra, MNDR, Sky Ferreria and The Jezabels were also mentioned as her personal top picks to catch at the festival.

As for the rest of us stuck here in Singapore, banish those woes as The Analog Girl will also be playing at the Esplanade Recital Studio on the 8th of November, 9:30pm as part of the Esplanade Presents: Late Nite series. Seductively dubbed ‘Tonight You’re Mine‘, the show promises to stir up vibes of “a hazy, sultry, downtown electronic cabaret”, with guest appearances by Andy Yang on bass and Afiq Omar creating live analogue visuals using compounds and science. As The Analog Girl herself promises, “There’s going to be chemistry, for sure.” Tickets are now available via SISTIC.

In the meantime, treat yourself to The Analog Girl’s latest album Tonight Your Love, currently available through digital outlets such as iTunes and Bandcamp. Vinyl aficionados, listen up – the album will also be available as a limited edition vinyl release during her concert at the Esplanade, so don’t miss it!
