Stealing 2NE1‘s spotlight on the charts is Korea’s girl band f(x). The first K-Pop band to showcase in SXSW 2013, the quintet composed of Victoria, Krystal, Amber, Sulli and Luna has just released their new album Pink Tape. It immediately soared to the top of South Korea’s charts, extending to other Asian territories such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

This week we’re seeing the girls sitting pretty on both our Singapore and Indonesia charts, with first single “Rum Pum Pum Pum” – a dance-y pop song that compares one’s first love with the first wisdom tooth. This makes it much more intriguing for us to find out how they went about the word play – too bad we don’t speak Korean!

f(x) had a fair share of popularity in America after their SXSW stint, but they grabbed further attention by doing a Funny or Die skit with Hollywood actress and Twilight cast member, Anna Kendrick. They are scheduled to fly back to Los Angeles for KCON 2013 with fellow K-Pop acts G-Dragon, 2AM, EXO, and Teen Top.

Watch their new music video below which raked in seven million views in just two weeks.
