Video: Lorde just joined BFF Taylor Swift on stage to sing ‘Royals’

Taylor Swift has been bringing out some heavyweight surprise guests for her 1989 World Tour — including The Weeknd, Nick Jonas, Echosmith and a handful of the models from her “Bad Blood” crew. Lucky fans in Washington D.C were treated to a very special performance when BFF Lorde joined her on stage.

The 18 year old Kiwi popstress apparently flew 19 hours from New Zealand to join Swift during last night’s (July 13) performance at Washington D.C.’s National Park and the pair joined together to perform Lorde’s ubiquitous smash — 2013’s “Royals.” Immediately following the performance, fans in attendance began posting videos on Twitter and Instagram showing the pair singing together.

The full clip is available for viewing here.

Lorde seemingly had a great time last night, as she tweeted: “but seriously, @taylorswift13 is the leader of a great and beautiful galaxy that i’d live in forever.” She also plans to write a Tumblr post about the concert experience.

At a different point in the night, Swifties experienced another surprise when a malfunction with the stage left Tay Tay sstranded on a platform.

“They just told me in my ear that I might be stuck up here forever,” she told the packed stadium, but in her typically unflappable style, she soon laughed it off and commenced her next song.
